News24xx.com - After New York Fashion Week, the world fashion week will shift to London Fashion Week starting on Friday, September 14th 2018 until Tuesday, September 18th 2018 ahead. This year's London Fashion Week event will be a little different. Later there will be no designer displaying their clothing with real animal fur material.

As reported by Female First, the British Fashion Council (BFC) has announced that London Fashion Week will not display materials or garments made from animal skin. This decision was taken after BFC conducted a survey by asking the participating designers, whether they planned to display furry animal clothing during the fashion show.

The survey results show that the trend in the fashion world is now increasingly towards a fashion that is environmentally friendly and opposes animal cruelty. "This movement (survey) wants to highlight the trends that we have seen over the past few years, with more and more brands deciding to use alternative materials to replace animal fur" explained BFC Chief Executive Caroline Rush.

A number of designers and fashion brands driving the world's fashion trends such as Burberry, Stella McCartney, Gucci and Versace have stated their commitment to no longer use animal fur for all of its products. According to Caroline, it is not impossible that other brands will follow their footsteps.

Wendy Higgins, international media director of the organization The Humane Society International UK, said that the trend of dressing with animal fur material is gradually being abandoned. Especially by British citizens. Famous British fashion brand, Burberry, recently announced that all of its products will be 'fur free' and 'cruelty free'.
