The terrifying moment when a huge chunk of cliff broke away onto a packed tourist beach in Zante

News24xx.com -  A terrible moment showed a huge chunk of cliff broke away and plunged down onto a packed tourist beach in Zante was caught on video. Tons of rock was fell down in a plume of dust, quickly followed by another section of the cliff. 

It makes many tourists fled in terror. The officials said, at least seven people were injured in the landslide. 

British holidaymakers described scenes ‘like Dunkirk’ on Navagio beach, a popular holiday spot on the Greek island. 

Video footage showed the rock split and drop onto the shore, sending up a cloud of dust and speeding waves inland over the assorted tourists. 

Sharon Robinson Palmer, also 58 and from Essex, said there were people who was snorkelling and sunbathing near the limestone cliffs when the tons of rock was fell down.

Rescue services with sniffer dogs are searching the beach for possible victims. It's estimated there were more than a dozen tourist boats in the bay, and between four and five hundred people in the area.
