Elon Musk deleted his Instagram account due to this reason

Elon MuskElon Musk - Not long ago, Elon Musk deleted his personal Instagram account. Various speculations emerged about his reason to leave social media owned by Facebook.

When interviewed in the podcast entitled The Joe Rogan Experience, Tesla's CEO tried to clarify the reason to delete his personal Instagram account. This relates to his personal view in seeing the phenomenon in social media. "One problem that exists on social media is that people look like they have a better life than the reality they actually live" he said.

"People upload images when they feel very happy, then modify them to look better. Even though they are not edited, they choose the best based on the lighting and shooting angle," he continued.

Then, he said Instagram made people look cooler and happier than their original self. According to him, this has a negative effect on his followers who are consumed by the upload. "I feel that people who see other individuals seem more attractive and happy will think if they are not that cool and happy, and consider themselves very poor" he said.

This is not the first time the CEO of SpaceX has had problems with social media. Previously, Elon followed in the footsteps of WhatsApp founder Brian Acton to delete a Facebook account in the #deletefacebook movement that had been viral some time ago. Not only his personal, he also deleted Facebook accounts from SpaceX and Tesla.
