News24xx.com - British authorities found a second case of monkeypox, a few days after the first was found on Saturday, September 8th 2018. The second case patient tested positive at Victoria Hospital in Blackpool and is now undergoing treatment at Liverpool University Hospital.

Just like the first case patient, according to the UK health services agency, a second case patient has recently visited Nigeria. Infection of rare viruses that infect these two patients does not spread easily between humans and most people can recover within a few weeks.

Dr Mike Beadsworth, clinical director of the infectious and tropical disease unit at Liverpool University Hospital, said the disease did not pose a risk to hospital staff, other patients, and visitors. "The patient is being treated by our staff in infectious and tropical disease units, who are very well trained and have experience dealing with various infectious diseases" Beadsworth said.

Monkeypox is usually classified as a mild disease that affects humans with limited transmission properties. Most infected people can recover within a few weeks, even though there are some who experience severe cases. This rare disease is caused by the monkeypox virus and is reported to circulate in central and western Africa.

This virus can spread to someone close to the infected person. Even so, the risk of transmitting this virus is very low to the wider community. Initial symptoms include fever, dizziness, muscle aches, back pain, swollen glands, cold sweat, and fatigue.
