News24xx.com - Quoted from ABC Australia, holding fart will form pressure on the stomach and cause discomfort to our body. Holding it for too long will actually make our body hurt.

Researchers estimate the habit of holding farts too often can cause a disease called diverticulitis. Diverticulitis is an inflammation or infection that attacks the diverticula, sacs that form along the digestive tract, especially the intestine.

If you have been affected by the disease, some of the symptoms that will appear include abdominal pain, constipation, nausea and even bloody defecation.

Fart is a mixture of air that we swallow through the mouth and mix with the results of the digestive process that occurs in the intestine and then out through the anal canal.

In a study published by US National Library of Medicine in National Institutes of Health revealed that generally healthy people produce 476 to 1,490 milliliters of gas a day. Where each time fart produces approximately 33 to 125 milliliters of gas.
