News24xx.com - North Korea and South Korea opened a joint liaison office in Kaesong City on Friday, September 15th 2018, a step considered a new chapter on the history of relations between the two countries. "The new chapter in history opens today. This liaison office is another symbol of peace created jointly by South Korea and North Korea" South Korea's Unification Minister Cho Myoung-gyon said at the office's opening ceremony.

Cho explained that inside the building there was a separate office space for North Korea and South Korea and a joint conference room. According to Cho, all this was built to facilitate cross-border exchanges following the Panmujom Meeting between South Korean President Moon Jae-in and North Korea's highest leader, Kim Jong-un, in the middle of this year.

After the historic meeting, North Korea and South Korea's relations continued to improve. They even plan joint projects in several sectors. Moon is also scheduled to return to North Korea to visit for three days next week, where he will also meet for the third time with Kim.

In addition to the relations between the two countries, the main agenda of the meeting is expected to be a denuclearization agreement on the Korean Peninsula, as agreed at the meeting of Kim and US President Donald Trump in Singapore before. Until now, the agreement was still stalled because there were alleged differences in views regarding the meaning of nuclear disarmament and its conditions.
