News24xx.com - Jordan's King Abdullah II rejected the US proposal to form a Palestinian-Jordanian confederation. Palestinian President Mahmud Abbas retold his talks with senior US official Jason Greenblatt and senior White House adviser Jared Kushner about the incorporation of a Palestinian-Jordanian state to replace a two-state solution to a group of activists on Sunday.

Abbas acknowledged his interest in such an agreement, only if Israel was part of the confederation, reported from Hagit Ofran, a member of the Israeli left-wing Peace. Abbas's administration confirmed the meeting with Israeli activists, but could not comment further.

Neighboring Jordan and the international community insist that the only way of peace for Israel-Palestine is a two-state solution. "We have heard of the country's conflict over the years. I ask: What is this confession with which side? This is a limitation for Jordan" King Abdullah said in a statement.

King Abdullah, stressed that there was no alternative that could replace the two-state solution and establish East Jerusalem as the capital of a Palestinian state. "Other proposals are useless" he said.

For Palestine, the formation of a confessional state will make the dream of establishing the state even further to be realized. However, various Israeli parties see this step as a way to avoid the establishment of a Palestinian state. They said the proposal would allow Israel to avoid responsibility for about 3.5 million Palestinians living under Israeli occupation in the West Bank.
