With the price tag IDR 13 million, LG V40 ThinQ with 5 cameras officially introduces to the market


IllustrationIllustration - LG officially launched its newest smartphone with the name of LG V40 ThinQ. Some main features are embedded in the form of its camera. At the front, two cameras are embedded, and the rear with three cameras.


The front camera has 8MP and 5MP resolution respectively. While the three rear cameras consist of a 12MP camera with a wide-angle lens and an f / 1.5 aperture, a 16MP camera with a super wide-angle lens and an f / 1.9 aperture, as well as a 16MP camera with telephoto lens and f / 2.4 aperture for portrait photos.


The uniqueness is the wide-angle camera (12MP, f / 1.5) on the LG V40 ThinQ has a pixel size 40 percent larger (1.4 micrometers) than the flagship LG G7 (1 micrometer), thus promising better image capture quality .


On the side of the telephoto camera, besides having 2x optical zoom, LG also added additional lighting effects such as natural, studio, contour, stage, and stage mono. This additional lighting feature is claimed to enhance and sharpen portrait photos in various lighting conditions.


On the software side, artificial intelligence (AI) is used to detect the type of photo subject and set the shooting parameters automatically, to optimize the results of the photo. There is also Google Lens support for identifying objects in photos.


LG also embed two new features for this latest flagship smartphone camera, which is 'triple preview' to see live-preview shots from three cameras simultaneously and a 'triple shot' to see shots from three different angles.


LG V40 ThinQ has a 6.4-inch OLED screen with a 'notch' alias bangs on the top that contains the front camera. The processor based on Snapdragon 845 chipset which is paired with 6GB RAM and 64GB of internal memory which can be added with microSD.


LG V40 ThinQ also has a headphone jack3.5mm and is equipped with water and dust resistant capabilities with IP68 certification. The battery capacity is 3300mAh with the support of wireless charging.


Audio features of the V-series style from LG are also there, including 32-bit quad DAC and Boombox speakers.


The operating system run by LG V40 ThinQ is Android 8.1 Oreo. Although promised by LG, but there is still no clarity when this handset will get an Android Pie update.


In its native country, United States, although the specifications are still classified as premium offered at the price of USD 900 or around IDR 13.6 million. And LG V40 ThinQ is still unknown when it will enter the Indonesian market. But it is expected to arrive at the end of 2018
