Asians in America is less likely to eat junk food, survey says

News24xx.com - Often referred to as fast food enthusiasts, Asian Americans actually show the opposite habit. The results of research from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), USA, revealed that Asian Americans living in Uncle Sam's country consumed the least fast food among other ethnic groups there.

There were 30.6% of Asian American adults who ate fast food, between 2013 and 2016, followed by Hispanics by 35.5%, Caucasians by 37.6% and African Americans by 42.4%. These results are obtained through home interviews and standard physical examinations at Mobile Examination Centers. The participants were asked about what menu they ate in the last 24 hours. Of course by including the source (place) of food or drinks they consume.

Gender results show that Asian women consume the least fast food. Only 30.4% eat junk food, while Asian men have a slightly larger amount, which is 31.1%.

Reported by NextShark, on October 4th 2018, it is the African American women who consume the most fast food. There are as many as 42.9% of both men and women. Overall, 36.6% of adult Americans eat fast food. This figure represents around 85 million people.

Through this study, it is known that men tend to eat fast food for lunch. While women prefer to eat it as snack. "Fast food is part of the American diet and is referred to as high-calorie food" the CDC wrote.
