William Nordhaus and Paul Romer were awarded the Nobel Economics award for their services in research around climate change and technological innovation. Their research is considered to have contributed significantly to a better understanding of sustainable economic growth in the context of climate change and technological progress, the Royal Swedish Academy of Science stated. Nordhaus is a professor at Yale University, and Romer teaches at the Stern Business School at New York University.

Nobel Prize winners in the fields of Medicine, Physics and Chemistry and the Nobel Peace Prize winner were announced last week. The Nobel Prize for Economics will be awarded along with other Nobel Prizes on December 10, the day of the death of Alfred Nobel.
