News24xx.com -  Allegedly problematic, the entire fleet of F-35 fighter jets belonging to the United States (US) was grounded for inspection. The US military decision came after the South Carolina Marine Corps F-35B accident last month.

This instruction applies to all variants of stealth fighter jets, including the Air Force F-35A and Navy F-35C. The aircraft engine will be inspected to find a damaged tube and be replaced if needed.

The US military says that the inspection process is expected to take up to 48 hours.

The decision came amid an investigation into the F-35B fighter jet accident on September 28, 2018.

The plane crashed after the plane took off from an air base in Beaufort.

"The main objective following the accident is to prevent future incidents," said Joe DellaVedova, spokesman for the Pentagon's Joint Program Office (JPO), which oversees the F-35, as quoted by Sindonews, quoting Fox News, Friday, October 12, 2018.

"We will take every step to ensure safe operations, while we deliver, maintain and modernize the F-35 for our combat forces and defense partners.
