News24xx.com - How do you know someone's sexuality aside from asking directly? According to researchers in a recent study published in the journal Archives of Sexual Behavior you can look for clues by looking at the length of the fingers. One researcher Dr Tuesday Watts of the University of Essex said that in 18 identical twin female couples with different sexuality, those who are lesbians tend to have different sizes on their index and ring fingers.

According to researchers the characteristics of fingers like that are common in men. Researchers also analyzed finger lengths on 14 identical twin male pairs with different sexuality. But found no correlation. Researchers theorize the possibility of being exposed to more testosterone when in the womb. The hormone testosterone is a male sex hormone and in the womb the fetus will be exposed to this hormone.

"Because identical twins, with genes that are 100 percent the same, can have different sexual orientations, there must be other factors that cause these differences" Dr Watts said as quoted by the BBC on Friday, October 19th 2018.

According to Dr. Watts, the higher the level of exposure to testosterone when in the womb, the tendency of someone to become bisexual or homosexual may increase. "Because the link between hormone levels and finger size, seeing a person's finger can give clues about their sexuality" concluded Dr. Watts.
