A Decade of Tour de Singkarak

News24xx.com -  Sports-based tourism event (sport tourism) pride of West Sumatra Province (West Sumatra), Tour de Singkarak (TdS) 2018, was officially launched at the Soesilo Soedarman Hall, Sapta Pesona Building, Jakarta, Ministry of Tourism office, Monday, October 22 2018.

TdS 2018 was launched by the Minister of Tourism (Menpar) Arief Yahya, together with the Deputy Governor of West Sumatra (West Sumatra) Nasrul Abit, and the mayor / regent throughout West Sumatra.

Entering its 10th year, TdS carries the theme 'One Decade For All'.

Tour de Singkarak is an international bicycle racing event, which combines attractive tourism and sports promotion.

TdS has even been recognized by Amouri Sport Organization (ASO) and Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI), as a bicycle racing event with the highest number of viewers ranked fifth in the world

This annual event will take place from 04 to 11 November 2018, TdS 2018 will start from Bukittinggi City and end in Kota Pariaman.

Mr Arief Yahya said the implementation of the 2018 TdS had a direct impact on the economy of the community, as well as a high value media and had a positive influence on West Sumatra's tourism promotion nationally and internationally.

"I invite all parties, all levels at the central and regional levels, the private sector, the media and the wider community to support and succeed in the implementation of the 2018 TdS which is now 10 years old, so that in this decade, this world-class bicycle racing event can become one of the prestigious sport tourism venues in foreign countries, "said Menpar Arief Yahya.

Deputy Governor Nasrul Abit also said that the positive impact of the implementation of TdS could be seen from the increasing occupancy rates of hotel rooms, food sales, and typical souvenirs of West Sumatra.
