Be careful, play a smartphone can to trigger autism for children

News24xx.com -   Autism or autism spectrum disorder is a neurological and developmental disorder that often starts since childhood and can lasts for a lifetime. 

In addition to genetic factors, the environment also plays a major role. For example, such as the exposure of gadgets since childhood and unhealthy food.

As quoted from detikHealth, Dr. Melly Budhiman, SpKJ, the president of the Autisma Indonesia Foundation explained that the brains of children aged 0-5 years are in the golden period of development.

Seeing the phenomenon, many parents who allow their children to play gadgets from a young age and even a baby, Dr. Melly said it could trigger autism in the child.

"The brain of a child when it's over 5 years old is still developing, but it's slowing down. Now, many babies was given a gadget to watching YouTube channel. Instead, every child has to develop from the environment. He must imitate the environment, must have to interact with the environment."

"So, if since their childhood, their parents allow them to used a gadget, it will make them not to focused, does not want to be disturbed, and their development has stopped," he explained when met during the ASEAN Autism Games 2018 press conference on Friday, October 19 2018.

Dr. Melly said, she having questioned a mother who gave a gadget to her child who was not even a year old, with reasons although without caregivers, the gadget helped her to work and her child became calmed down. 

Or there is also a mother who gives their children a gadget when have a breakfast or lunch. So, as a parent, we must be  careful. Because too much to play it, can to trigger autism for children.
