News24xx.com - A series of names of cities around the world become 'monthly' danger of overtourism. The impact is not only triggering the destruction of tourism, the chaos of the people became the result of a surge in the number of tourists. One country that is often haunted by overtourism is Thailand. This makes the Thai government’s issue new tourism regulations for tourists who want to visit the Similan Islands.

To overcome the high number of tourists, the government has banned tourists staying overnight on Tuesday, October 9th 2018, as quoted by the Telegraph. Located 80 kilometers from Phuket, the islands that are home to 11 tropical islands are part of Mu Koh National Park.

Every day, Similan can welcome more than 5,000 tourists who come to enjoy the beauty of coral reefs in the Andaman waters. Even in recent years, its popularity has actually resulted in damage to the marine environment.

This arrangement applies to all lodging, except those who operated by licensed sea shipping companies. Not only that, the number of visitors to Similan Islands will also be limited to 3,325 visitors per day. Ships with a capacity of more than 100 passengers will also be prohibited from sailing to the islands. It is planned that regulations will come into effect starting January 1st, 2019.
