President Jokowi Appreciates the JT-610 Lion Air Victim Search Team


Jokowi Jokowi - President Joko Widodo returned to the Lion Air JT-610 evacuation integrated post in Jakarta International Container Terminal (JICT) 2, Tanjung Priok, North Jakarta.

President Jokowi held a coordination meeting with Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi, TNI Commander Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto, Head of National Search and Relief Agency (BNPP) Air Force Marshal Muhammad Syaugi, Chair of the NTSC Soerjanto Tjahjono, and a number of other related elements.

The meeting discussed the search area, the search method, and the equipment used in the search process for the fuselage and victims of Lion Air JT-610 until the fifth day of this search. Jokowi expressed his gratitude and appreciation for 859 people on the joint team who worked hard to search the ship's body, the victims, and a black box that had been found.

"At the speed of the black box discovery yesterday, I also want to express my gratitude," the President said in a release received by DW.

He explained that in this search process, the joint team continued to work hard with the help of modern equipment capable of detecting objects on the seabed. The President hopes that this search process can immediately find the desired results.

"I only entrust to use all of the capabilities and technology available and work quickly to find those that have not been found," he said.
