Mocking the suicide of Kpop star, magazine in Spain blasphemed by Kpop fans

News24xx.com - A satirical magazine in Spain has angered K-Pop fans after being considered to be mocking Jonghyun SHINee's death in a comic. Not a few of them also criticized and asked the magazine to be closed.

El Jueves, is a weekly magazine based in Barcelona. The magazine published a comic in Spanish which reportedly used Jonghyun's death to criticize on the K-Pop industry. Jonghyun himself was found dead in his apartment after attempting suicide. The death of the 27-year-old singer in December last year clearly destroyed heart of millions of his fans.

The comic in the magazine which was considered offensive was translated into English by Twitter user @CintiaDero and which make Kpop fans angered is how El Jueves joked about sensitive topics such as sexual violence, exploitation, depression and suicide. It also criticizes Korean boyband members, from their style, shows, even their fandom.

"K-Pop is full of cases of sexual violence, exploitation, and depression among its stars. In 2017, an idol committed suicide at the age of 27 after being unable to cope with the pressure in the industry" read the comic in El Jueves magazine.
