An US man killed two children and his wife who was pregnant

Chris Watts's confession was revealed after the prosecutor agreed not to sue him with the death sentence as long as the man received nine charges.

Watts' actions were revealed less than 24 hours after he confessed to the media that his wife, Shanann Watts, was 15 weeks pregnant, and his two daughters, Bella (4) and Celeste (3), were missing.

"I hope he is safe and with children," Watts said last August to the Denver7 news channel affiliated with ABC television station.

Based on police searches, Shanann's remains were found buried under shallow underground. The bodies of his two daughters were found nearby, inside the oil tank.
Chris Watts claimed to have killed one of his daughters after telling his wife that he was having an affair. He then attacked his wife and other daughter.

The man is charged with murder, tampering with the body, and illegally aborting the womb.

Now Watts is reportedly threatened with three life sentences in a verdict scheduled to take place on November 19.

According to local media, Michael Rourke as prosecutor, said the family of Chris Watts' wife intentionally did not file a death sentence because such demands were "very time consuming".

"That, for me, is the most important consideration in deciding how to proceed with this case," Rourke said.
