According data from health ministry, as many as 21,8% Indonesia citizens are obese

News24xx.com - Based on data from the 2018 Basic Health Research (Riskesdas), the prevalence of people over the age of 18 who are obese increases from 14.8 percent to 21.8 percent. The Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia, Nila F Moeloek, said that the lifestyle of unhealthy people caused the obesity rate to rise.

Obesity is a risk factor for various non-communicable diseases such as diabetes, stroke, heart disease, hyper tension and kidney failure. One of the causes of obesity is the lack of physical activity done by the people.

"Data from Riskesdas shows that approximately 33 percent of our population is lack of physical activity. So, physical activity is not just about exercise, for example farmers to rice fields, it is included. Up and down stairs is also included" said Director of the Health Research and Development Agency, Dr. Siswanto, when met on the same occasion.

Of course changing people's behavior for the better is not easy. Minister of Health Nila added, awareness of yourself is needed to avoid various diseases at risk of death.
