A tiger that trapped in under shophouses in Riau were successfully to evacuated

News24xx.com - A Sumatran tiger trapped under shops (shophouses) on Bird Island, Indragiri Hilir (Inhil) Regency, were successfully evacuated by the Riau Natural Resources Conservation Center (BBKSDA) team on Saturday (11/17) morning.

"Earlier at around 01.48 West Indonesia the Riau BBKSDA team succeeded in carrying out an anesthesia of Sumatran tigers under the shophouse of Pulau Burung," said Head of Riau BBKSDA Suharyono.

After the tiger fell asleep, Suharyono added, the BBKSDA team dismantled a portion of the shophouse's foundation.

"That was done so that the team could evacuate," he said.

He also added, currently the tiger is already in an evacuation cage and the rescue process from the shophouse runs safely and smoothly.

"We will bring the tiger to the Sumatran Tiger Rehabilitation Center (PRHSD), which is the closest location," Suharyono said.

Meanwhile, the tiger that has been successfully evacuated is male sex with an estimated age of three years. The tiger is named Atan Bintang.

"We named Atan Bintang. Atan means a single (in) Malay language, if Bintang is due to salvation in the middle of the night when there is a star. We will make the name Atan Bintang," Suharyono said.

In addition, Suharyono also mentioned that there were fewer injuries to tigers who had now received treatment. "We will bring the tiger to the Sumatran Tiger Rehabilitation Center (PRHSD) which is the closest location," Suharyono said.
