News24xx.com -  The London city government prohibits junk food advertising in all means of transportation in the region. The rules implemented starting February 25, 2019 are also applied to public transport stops, such as terminals and stations.

Quoted from the Daily Mail, London Mayor Sadiq Khan initiated this rule to build a healthier society. Junk food providers may not even display their logo on billboards on all London transportation services.

However, junk food entrepreneurs may still advertise a healthier menu. For example vegetable salad, fruit, artificial sweetener-free drinks, and snacks that are not given extra salt. The same thing can be applied to the production menu of junk food providers that are low in fat, sugar, and salt.

Step Khan creates pros and cons in government and junk food entrepreneurs. Chief Medical Officer for England Dame Sally Davies expressed her support for Khan's move.

According to Davies, the number of children suffering from obesity in the UK has been very worrying. Britain needs concrete steps to stop increasing cases of obesity, as Khan did.

However, the head of the Justin Cochrane Outsmart trade organization regretted Khan's move.

According to him London does not need to take extreme steps by limiting advertising. The government can work with employers to socialize healthy eating patterns for the community.
