News24xx.com -  The verdict of the Lleida city of Spain, which released two defendants from rape charges, sparked a wave of protests.

The judiciary in the northeastern Spanish city has sentenced the perpetrators to 4.5 years in prison. But the judge considers the perpetrators do not force sexual relations or rape victims.

The two perpetrators were considered not proven to intimidate the victim before 'deviant sexual acts' occurred. The two perpetrators in this case were the uncle and the victim's cousin.

A wave of protests in Spain earlier emerged last April, when five men were released from charges of raping girls at the San Fermin Festival in Pamplona.

Since then, a number of demonstrations have been held against the judiciary which is considered to be thick with patriarchal nuances.

In the case of Lleida, the two perpetrators were called meeting victims in a bar. From there, they then went to the nightclub.

But the two men then dragged the victim to a deserted street. They impose agency relations, requests that victims reject.

The victim was called to beg that the two men stop their actions. He cried, then vomited.

The perpetrators were called to take advantage of the victim's weak condition, which was allegedly caused by alcoholic drinks and antidepressant drugs.

This physical condition made the victim not resist. On the basis of this consideration, the judge considers that there is no violence or coercion in the relationship of the agency.

The consequence of these considerations, said the judge, was that the rape article with a maximum jail sentence of 15 years could not be applied.
