News24xx.com - A 5,1 Richter Scale earthquake shook Kulon Progo Regency, Yogyakarta, in Friday morning, at 03:42 a.m. local time.

According to Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysical Agency (BMKG), the location of the earthquake was 122 km to the north west of Kulon Progo, Yogyakarta.

The center of the quake is 8.84 South Latitude – 109.74 East Longitude, with the depth of 18 kilometers. Fortunately, it did not have potential to cause tsunami.

Meanwhile, a 5,9 Richter Scale earthquake also shook West Nias Regency, North Sumatra. But once again, it has no potential of causing tsunami. It happened around 03:21 a.m., located 120 km to the north west of West Nias. The coordinate is 0.13 North Latitude and  96.85 East Longitude, with the depth of 10 km under sea level.
