Scientists said that there is a possibility that earthquake will happen at mount Himalaya with the power of 8,5 SR

News24xx.com - New study shows that a 8,5 Richter Scale earthquake will shake Mount Himalaya. This study from India was supported by other studies all over the world.

The study led by seismologist Rajendran from Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research in Bengaluru found something shocking. Accumulated tension in one area can cause a great earthquake, reaching 8,5 Richter Scale. Rajendran said that Himalaya can shake anytime in the future.
 

The study was released in Geological Journal. The data was collected from two areas, Mohana Khola at the west of Nepal and Chorgalia at the border of India.

The study used the data from structural map that was released by Geological Survey of India. They also used data from Google Earth and the images from satellite of ISRO (Indian Space Research Organization), Cartosat-1.
