Study found that parents nowadays love to used food names for their baby names

News24xx.com - Reporting from Fox News, December 10th 2018, a study revealed that in 2018 many parents gave their babies a food name. On November 28, the Parenting website BabyCenter released a list of children's names "TOP 100" which made every year.

From this list the names Jackson and Sophia are the most used one. But many parents also chose food names as their baby names. In 2018 this is a popular year for using food names for baby names. The researchers conducted a survey to thousands of parents who just had delivered their babies. Reportedly, the names of Kiwi, Kale, Maple and Clementine experienced a surge on this year.

Babies with Kiwi names rose by 40 percent, Kale rose 35 percent, followed by Maple with 32 percent and Clementine at 15 percent. While the baby boy named Sage experienced a surge of up to 15 percent.

Parents seem to want to name their baby with something small happiness in the form of food. Besides the names of fruits and vegetables, this website also releases baby names such as Baker, Honey, Napoleon to Plum.

"Parents are inspired by the things they like and they thought was unique name" said Linda Murray from BabyCenter. "In the past, we searched for baby names through scriptures or inspirational figures. Parents now prefer names from unique things. This has been going on for at least the past two decades."
