News24xx.com - It has been 40 days in a row the aroma of the special fragrance comes from the Indonesian Public Kitchen in Gaza. Since the end of last October, thousands of servings of Briyani rice and chicken dishes have been cooked every morning there. Those nutritious food will later be given to Gazans who are still entangled in the humanitarian crisis until now.

At the beginning of December, thousands of packages of rice were ready to eat and arrived at a down syndrome child care center in Gaza. The Aksi Cepat Tanggap (ACT) volunteers brought all the food from ACT's Indonesian Public Kitchen.

In a hall of the Down Syndrome Center building, the children's smile expanded. Their eyes exuded curiosity in a number of glossy ash boxes in the hands of the volunteers. The boxes contained warm rice ready to be distributed to them.

I was so happy, Amir, one of the assisted children in Down Syndrome Center, kissed one of the volunteers' hands and cheeks as a sign of thanks shortly after the volunteer gave him food.

Down Syndrome Center is one of the institutions that accommodate and treat people with down syndrome from various regions in Gaza. They accommodate up to hundreds of people who experience down syndrome.

The manager of Down Syndrome Center Ahmed Alhelo expressed his gratitude. "Thank you ACT and the Indonesian people for their kindness in helping Palestinians, especially those of us who live in Gaza" he said.

In addition, the team also distributed ready-to-eat food to underprivileged areas in the Hanoun Temple. There, a number of children were waiting for the arrival of ACT volunteers at the end of their door. Wrapped in warm clothes they ran over to the volunteers.

The distribution of ready-to-eat food from the Indonesian Public Kitchen is a form of attention of the Indonesian people to the refugees in Gaza who have long been exposed to the humanitarian crisis. In line with the winter in Gaza, Indonesia's public kitchen is a humanitarian program favored in the last quarter of 2018.

"Indonesian Public Kitchen continues to serve the Gaza community this winter. Since the beginning of this program at the end of last October, as many as 44,206 portions of ready-to-eat food have been distributed throughout Gaza," reported Andy Noor Faradiba from Global Humanity Response ACT, in a release received on Friday (12/14).

At the same time, ACT also distributed a number of warm clothes and blankets for survivors in Gaza. According to online weather indicators, the temperature in Gaza this season is in the range of 21-16 degrees Celsius. The situation is sometimes accompanied by a decrease in rain.
