First time in medical history, a baby was born from the womb of the dead person

News24xx.com - First time happening in the medical world, a baby girl is born in a healthy condition from the uterus which is the result of a transplant from the body of someone who has died. Launching AFP, the breakthrough which began in September 2016 in Sao Paulo, Brazil, shows that a transplant from someone's dead body can help thousands of women who cannot afford to have children because of uterine problems.

The 32-year-old donor's mother had a uterine failure due to a rare syndrome called Mayer-Rokitansky-Kuster-Hauser. This syndrome is only experienced by 1 in 4,500 women in the world. This syndrome causes the vagina and uterus not to form perfectly.

While the donor is a 45-year-old woman who died from a stroke, this woman's womb was removed and transplanted in an operation lasting more than ten hours. Previously there were 10 similar experiments conducted. However, unfortunately the trials led to a failure in the form of a miscarriage experienced by pregnant women.

The ovaries of pregnant women who had previously carried out similar experiments were taken. Medical experts also fertilize it with sperm from a man and freeze it. The donor recipient is given a drug that weakens the immune system to protect it from the body's refusal to transplant organs.

Six weeks later, donor recipients began to experience menstruation. Waiting for up to seven months, the fertilized egg is implanted in her womb. After going through the pregnancy process, a baby weighing 2.5 kilograms was born through a caesarean section on December 15th, 2017. The baby was monitored to grow in a normal condition without defects until now.
