News24xx.com - The researchers from University of London, England and Washington State University, United States, found the proof that the Moon can become an alternative place for humans to live in.

Before this, astronomers believed that the satellite had no volcano that could create atmosphere. However, new findings show that the surface of the moon had had a condition that could support basic human life around 4 billion years ago. The lead researcher from Washington State University, Dirk Schulze-Makuch said that back then, the Moon let out steam, including water vapor, from its core.

“This was when atmosphere was created where the steam that came out might become liquid pool on the surface. It this happened, then that area would become a perfect place for microorganism to develop,” he said.

According to him, this finding is really important. If researchers can study further and find any sign of life as was explained, then it will give them a glimpse to what happened when the Earth was created.

A researcher from University of London, Ian Crawford added that this finding came from the recent space missions and the analysis of the soil sample of the Moon, which shows that the ground there is not dry like what the researchers had thought before. In fact, in 2009 and 2010, a team of astronomers found that the celestial object contains hundreds of millions of ice matrix. “These findings show that this rocky satellite had ‘lived’ once,” he said.
