Tornado crashed onto 50 houses in Bogor

News24xx.com - National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) stated that the tornado that hit Bogor caused damage to the civilians’ houses and one casualty. The casualty is Eni Retno (46), who lived in Bogor Nirwana Residence, Bogor.

“The data for now shows that there are 50 houses that are damaged,” said the spokesman of BNPB, Sutopo Purwo Nugroho, Thursday, December 6th 2018.

According to Sutopo, the number of damaged houses will likely increase. There are many houses that were hit by tornado in 4 sub-districts in Bogor, West Java.

“6 vehicles were damaged. Trees fell down at 5 points in the area on South Bogor,” he said.

The Fast Reaction Team of Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Bogor, helped by National Army and Disaster Alert Cadets (Tagana) are collecting data, evacuating the victims and clearing up the fallen trees from the area. The data collection is still ongoing.

Tornado, caused by Cumulonimbus, hit South Bogor yesterday. The wind brought along heavy rain, causing trees to fall down in some areas like Cipaku, Batutulis, Pamoyanan and Lawanggintung.
