Group of women accused the internationally famous spiritual from Brazil harassing them sexually

News24xx.com - Several women accuse the internationally famous spiritual “healer” in Brazil, Joao Teixeira de Faria (76), known also as Joao de Deus (Joao of God), of sexually harassing them under the pretense of “curing” them. The accusation was made on Friday, on a program on Globo Television Network.

A Dutch choreographer, Zahira Leeneke Maus, along with nine Brazilian women, said that Faria had them masturbate or fellate him. He insisted that it was the only way to transfer his “healing” to them. She also claimed that he had raped her.

O Globo newspaper reported that they had talked to two other women who claimed that Faria has sexually abused them. All the women said that the actions took place between 2010 and the start of this year. It happened in Faria’s “spiritual hospital” in the town of Abadiania.

Faria denied all those accusations. His press service claimed that he had treated thousands of people for the past 44 years and he said he never did improper actions during his treatments.

Faria’s fame reaches far beyond Brazil. He is also popular in US, Europe and Australia. Even American celebrity and producer, Oprah Winfrey, had visited him in 2013 to see his “miracles”.
