The rules for the appearance for policewomen in Indonesia

News24xx.com - Being a policewoman does not mean you cannot style yourself. But, as said by a policewoman from Police Headquarter, Naning Setyo Budiarti, there are rule about appearance for policewomen.

“Our hairstyle is regulated in a way that won’t cause any trouble during work but still look neat and nice,” Naning said.

Naning said according to the regulations, the maximal hair length for a policewoman is 2 cm pass the collar, except for those who work in intelligence.

How about dying your hair? Is it permitted? “You can dye your hair, but only with the color of real hair like black and dark brown,” he said.

Policewomen are also not permitted to wear jewelry except rings. They can also only wear two rings maximum. How about makeup?

If it is only standard makeup, like lipstick and face powder, it is still permitted, as long as the makeup is not heavy. Mascara is still permitted but things like extension is forbidden.

“There is no strict rule about this. For example, we use to forbid eyebrows embroidery, but now there is eyebrows embroidery that looks natural. So it is based on whether the appearance is modest or not.” According to her, what is strictly forbidden for policewomen is plastic surgery. It is considered as faking identity.
