News24xx.com - Manufacturer of cannabis products American Greens Inc. acquired a small city in California. The purpose of the purchase is to turn it into a tourist site where marijuana is sold and consumed freely.

American company American Greens Inc., which specializes in the production of hemp products, acquired the small town Nypton, California, for $ 5 million in order to turn it into an "attractive for tourists" object, - reports Bloomberg.

Nypton is located in a desert area near the border of the state of Nevada and about an hour from Las Vegas. Founded in 1905 as a settlement of gold miners, it is now empty, about 20 people live there.

American Greens Inc. plans to use the existing infrastructure in the city and build new buildings, locate the production of edible marijuana products (candies, candy, chewing gum), retail stores, and hold events for creative people there.

"Due to the fact that marijuana consumption is legalized in California, Nevada and six other states, one in five adults from the United States can consume a previously forbidden plant, as he pleases", - Bloomberg writes and clarifies that this step opened the way for companies to make cannabis "more common product".

Project manager Steven Sherinen said that in this way the company intends to contribute to the development of the city. “The gold rush built this city. A green fever can make it grow”, - he told to  Bloomberg.

More than 25 states in the United States are allowed to use marijuana for medical purposes.
In the states Washington, Oregon, Alaska, California, Massachusetts, Nevada, Colorado and Maine the use of marijuana is also permitted for recreational purposes from November 2016.
