News24xx.com - Aksi Cepat Tanggap (ACT), to reach out and meet the needs of victims of the disaster, ACT equipped itself with a disaster fleet. Recently, a water truck distributed clean water was used to deliver clean water needs for tsunami victims in the Sunda Strait. Even a number of other disaster areas also applied the same thing.

ACT Coordinator of ACT's Humanity Mobile Watertank in Indonesia, Ahmad Rifai, said that the trucks used by ACT to distribute clean water are Hino 500 with engine capacity of up to 7 thousand cc. This large vehicle is the latest variant issued by Hino for this type of truck. "This truck can load up to 10,000 liters in the tank" Rifai explained on Monday, January 14th 2019.

The truck, which has just finished assembly, is now in charge of distributing clean water to victims of the Sunda Strait tsunami in Pandeglang.

"His first assignment this time was to distribute clean water to the Sumur Subdistrict area which was one of the worst affected locations in the tsunami. The winding road, up and down and damaged became the first trip" he explained.

Humanity Mobile Watertank will continue to tour Pandeglang Regency, reaching locations affected by disasters that have difficulty accessing clean water.

"Thank God, until now Humanity Mobile Watertank is still distributing clean water to residents affected by the tsunami. This clean water is from the distribution of Indonesian community zakat funds through Global Zakat" Rifai added.

Another fleet that ACT has also used to serve disaster victims is Humanity Food Truck.

Since it was first launched in May 2017, Humanity Food Truck continues to serve free foods for underprivileged people during the month of Ramadan.

In its operation during the disaster and fasting month, Humanity Food Truck is supported by Global Zakat. The Indonesian community zakat mandate is channeled through the Humanity Food Truck free food service for those in need, such as disaster victims and poor people.

"Currently one Humanity Food Truck fleet is on duty in Palu, Central Sulawesi, cooking for victims of the earthquake, tsunami and liquefaction disaster there. Another one is being completed in one of the bodybuilding. And the latest Humanity Food Truck Assembly is underway in Magelang, Java Middle" Rifai added.

From the information received, Mobile Watertank ACT also operates in Palestine.

"There in Palestine there are also 2 Mobile Watertank fleets. Every day, this fleet travels throughout Gaza to provide clean water to residents. As we know, the water quality in Gaza is very bad due to contamination of weapons of war" said Andi Noor Faradiba from Global Humanity Response (GHR) – ACT.

For distribution of aid logistics, ACT also has a box truck. In disaster areas, these vehicles are usually used to carry food packages such as rice, eggs, biscuits, bottled mineral water and so on. This food package was brought from the warehouse where the storage was in the area to ACT area posts scattered in various areas affected by the disaster.

Whereas for the purposes of combing areas affected by disasters and evacuation, ACT has a double cabin car and a rear body. This four-wheel drive vehicle or 4 wheel drive (4WD) is used to facilitate access to steep terrain and can’t be accessed by other types of vehicles.

"We use a number of manufacturers' brands, this 4WD car can be on a rather heavy terrain such as uphill and muddy roads" said Rifai.

In addition, ACT also complements the mobility of handling disasters by bringing a trail bike. This high-legged motorbike and rough wheels are used for combing areas that are inaccessible and too far on foot. Logistics transportation can also use this motorbike.

Not only that, in order to serve residents affected by the disaster, ACT also presented a pre-hospital ambulance. The vehicle of the ACT medical team provides supporting equipment before the disaster victims are treated further in the hospital. The ACT medical team also has an ambulance from a four-wheel drive vehicle.

The entire ACT disaster fleet supports one another, reaching as many disaster victims and humanitarian crises as needing help quickly.
