News24xx.com - WhatsApp is now working on an authentication mechanism of fingerprints to be applied on the WhatsApp application on Android. This will be one of the new features of WhatsApp. This WhatsApp feature was first discovered after WhatsApp released a WhatsApp update for Android 2.19.3 for Beta Programs on Google Play. This latest authentication method will use a fairly popular third-party locking application called redundant.

Later, WhatsApp will add a new section in the application that provides an option to activate the fingerprint feature. When this feature is available to all users, they must prove their identity every time they open the WhatsApp application.

Thus, this fingerprint authentication mechanism will add a layer of security for WhatsApp users. This feature is also planned to be present on WhatsApp for iOS. Quoted from WABetaInfo, on Wednesday, January 9th 2019, so far the feature is still in progress and needs further development.
