One pilot dead due to the collision of two Russian jet fighter

News24xx.com - Two Russian fighter jets, Sukhoi SU-34 collided over the East Sea or the Sea of ??Japan in a flight exercise on Friday, January 2019. One pilot was declared dead, while another pilot was rescued in an evacuation operation in the waters of Russia's Far East.

Quoting from the Ministry of Defense, the Russian news agency reported that one pilot "had no signs of life" when found. Meanwhile, television channel Zvezda reported that the survived pilot has been evacuated by air to Khabarovsk to get medical treatment.

Quoted by AFP, the Russian Investigation Commission explained that the accident of the two fighter jets which occurred during a flight training session near the Tartary Strait, the waters in the east of the country. The two fighter jets collided about 35 kilometers from the east coast of Russia. According to local media, aircraft pilots were able to get out of the jet before colliding.

The committee said it had opened a criminal investigation into the investigation into this incident. Previously, local media reported that two pilots were rescued. However, shortly the authorities said that only one pilot had been found. Zvezda described up to now search and rescue operations which are involving six ships, three helicopters, and three aircrafts is still undergoing.
