She was forced to be absent from school and had to stay at home, in an isolated room to avoid shock. "I lost many friends after having an MCAS, it was difficult for them to see me fainted and had to be injected with EpiPen and had to be taken to the hospital every time" Martina said, quoted from the Mirror.

Even though two and a half years ago, Martina was a very healthy girl, in one night suddenly she felt severe itching all over her body and was immediately taken to the hospital right away because her throat was swollen.

To overcome this, now her parents use the services of an assistant dog trained to help Martina, named Caiomhe. The dog's nose is 100,000 times better than humans and almost every biochemical process in our body is indicated by smell.
