Seven k-pop stars failed to get a bachelor's degree after caught cheating

News24xx.com - The seven people included three members from Highlight boy band, Lee Gikwang, Yong Junhyun, and Yoon Doojoon, then two BTOB members Eunkwang and Yook Sungjae, and singers Jang Hyunseung and Chu GaYeoul. The cancellation of the title itself was determined by the South Korean Ministry of Education after finding a number of celebrities who received special treatment.

The Education Trust Restoration Promotion Team from the South Korean Ministry of Education held their first meeting on Monday, January 14th 2019 to discuss the results of examining suspicions about injustice and corruption at Dongshin University and Busan Kyungsang University. They also immediately announced corrective actions related to the problem.

According to a report from the Ministry of Education, they found an acknowledgment of the presence of celebrities on campus despite actually not coming to class. Nevertheless, the special treatment for celebrities is called because there are no written regulations before 2015, also rules that bestow on the university can manage attendance data differently.

But now, the Ministry of Education stipulates that the attendance of these students cannot be recognized. In particular, despite the problem of the rules, singer Chu Ga Yeoul was considered a violator for acting as an assistant professor for the Department of Applied Music without having a bachelor's degree and simultaneously being registered to attend the Department of Broadcasting and Entertainment as a student.
