the Komodo national park in NTT will be closed by the provincial government

News24xx.com - Local and foreign tourists continue to come to visit the tourist sites of Komodo National Park in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT). This location was once proposed to enter into the seven wonders of the world.

However, at present, the deer population which is the main menu for Komodo dragons continues to decrease. And related to that, the Provincial Government (Pemprov) of NTT plans to close the location.

"This closure is intended to increase the deer population which is the main food of the Komodo dragon. In addition, the NTT Provincial Government will better organize the Komodo National Park, so that the Komodo dragon habitat will develop" said NTT Governor Viktor Bungtilu Lasikodat, January 22nd 2019.

He revealed that Komodo dragon habitat conditions need to be maintained as a result of the reduced number of these rare animals.

In addition, safeguards will also be increased as a result of the occurrence of illegal hunting of deer in the area.

"We are worried that the Komodo dragons, namely deer, will decrease. And what is feared by fellow Komodo dragons will be to devour each other to survive" he concluded.
