Other than a 7,4 magnitude earthquake followed by tsunami, there was also the liquefaction phenomenon in Petobo, Palu. Here are some scientific facts that scientists have found regarding the deadly disaster in Palu, Central Sulawesi.

1.       The time of tsunami

This was one of the biggest questions which had been answered a week after the disaster happened. According to the data of the tidal station in Pantoloan, Palu, on Friday, September 28, the water ebbed on 06.08 p.m. and flooded at 06.10 p.m. It means that the tsunami happened 8 minutes after the earthquake.

3.       Important clue about Palu tsunami is kept under the sea

During the Fall Meeting of the American Geophysical Union, the largest annual gathering or Earth and space scientists, a surprising fact was found.
