News24xx.com - There is something interesting from the Sakina Halal Grill restaurant in Washington, D.C., United States. They don't hesitate to share foods they made to homeless. If usually a fancy restaurant does not allow homeless people to go inside, Sakina Halal Grill is the opposite. This restaurant near the White House even gives them free food inside the restaurant.

Quoted from ABC7News, on February 9th 2019, Sakina Halal Grill serves authentic Pakistani and Indian food. "If someone says I need to eat bu t I don’t have any money, fine, that’s okay" said Kazi Mannan as the owner of the restaurant. He claimed he would not question and never judge such people. He has been using this principle for the past 5 years. So homeless people or poor people can eat delicious foods for free here. In 2018, Sakina Halal Grill has even provided more than 16,000 free meals.

Mannan said that he had a regular 'guest' in his restaurant. "We know them and know what they want. Some have dental problems, so we give them boneless, tender chicken" Mannan continued.

Mannan himself is an immigrant from a small village in Pakistan. He came to the US in 1996 with only USD 5 left in his wallet. He also went through difficult times where he didn't have enough money to eat. After opening the Sakina Halal Grill in 2013 he decided to give a free meal to homeless people.
