News24xx.com -  There are many parenting techniques we can all try to make our children feel more confident.

Prince William and Kate Middleton in particular, have done one technique worth picked by all parents to build confidence in their children, George and Charlotte.

The royal couple often squats down when talking to their children, or any child for that matter. They will get down to so they are on the same eye-level with the child, to converse or even admonish them. This is a contrast from many adults, who often stand tall and look down on their children when they talk to them.

As cited from Cheat Sheet, when you crouch down to be at the same level as the child, it will position you closer to the children. This will make them feel safer and more comfortable because it shows that you are really listening to them. That way, they will be able to open up about their feelings. Speaking verbally about their feelings will prevent temper tantrum or angry outburst.

“Active listening is one of the most important ways you can send the message, ‘You’re important to me’. Get down on the child’s level, lean in and make eye contact,” said Child development expert, Gill Connell, as cited from Cheat Sheet.
