Having rare syndrome, this woman claims can 'taste' the sound of your name

News24xx.com - Julie McDowall experienced what was called as synesthesia, a rare condition in which one of the senses (vision, for example) seems to be disturbed by the other senses. For example, the sense of taste and the sense to listen which make her can hear a sound from orange, or smell the scent from number 10.

Julie McDowall herself claimed to be able to 'feel' or 'taste' the names of people and describe them into various flavors. "I have synesthesia which means I can ‘taste’ words. Ask me what your name tastes like" Julie said on a Twitter account, which she uploaded some time ago.

Synesthesia is still not really trusted by people. Many of them are skeptical whether the condition is real or not. But historical data mentions in 1690, a philosopher named John Locke, once wrote about a man who could 'see' red whenever he heard the sound of a trumpet.

In Julie's case, she claimed to be able to 'taste' someone's name. The influencer with more than 13 thousand followers in het Twitter account also challenges anyone to tell their names, and Julie will tell the 'taste' of their name. "Catherine is taste like of bread dipped in chocolate and coffee" Julie answered, when one of he followers asked what her name tasted like.

Julie McDowell is not the only woman with synesthesia. A woman with the account name @francesweetman also claimed to have synesthesia which could see letters, names, numbers and words in color.
