Indonesian worker killed by crocodile in Malaysia

News24xx.com - News agency AFP reported that an Indonesian man names Muh Tahir Majid Syam (40) died being killed by a crocodile in Malaysia. The man’s nephew was horrified to see the victim disappeared in the river after being attacked by the crocodile.

At that time, the man went missing when looking for crabs in the river in Sarawak with his nephew on Tuesday, February 12th. Local police officer Mohamad Sabri said that when looking for his uncle, the victim’s nephew saw his head popping out of the surface of the water before sinking.

“He was looking for his uncle when he saw his uncle’s head emerging out of the water’s surface before sinking again into the river,” the police officer said.

Muh Tahir’s body was found on Wednesday. His body was full of bite marks so the police concluded that he was killed by saltwater crocodile. Muh Tahir was a migrant worker who worked in a palm oil plantation.

Saltwater crocodiles are often found along the rivers and beaches in two of Malaysian states, Sabah and Sarawak. The reptile can grow to 7 meters long and they are often the cause of a string of attacks in those areas.
