News24xx.com - Internal medicine specialist in endocrine metabolic and diabetes consultants from Eka Hospital, Dr. Indra Wijaya, SpPD-KEMD, M.Kes, FINASIM confirmed that it is rare for someone to die from consuming soap. "We see whether the chemical components that enter the body are corrosive or not, wheter the person's stomach can adapt to that or not" he told when met in the Senayan area, Central Jakarta, on Thursday, February 14th 2019.

Dr. Indra said that soap made from alkaline and not corrosive or does not have the ability to damage the digestive tract quickly. But if too much, can cause disruption of gastric function which is very acidic. "The danger for digestion is acid, a sub-irritant that is chemically alkaline, rarely causes death. Different from chemicals with acidic pH, it often causes death" he added.

Something chemical that is acidic like a corrosive battery is very easy to damage the digestive tract. Not only causing irritation, but also can cause bleeding and even the appendix. "Corrosive is very easy to damage and hurt our body. If we drink battery water, inside of our body can bleed, vomit blood, pooping blood, and appendicitis, and so on" said Dr. Indra.
