News24xx.com - The British Parliament considers Facebook has deliberately violated the law of privacy and competition.  The company, along with its executives, is likened to a "digital gangster" because it feels untouched by law.

This was stated in a report on the results of an investigation by the Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) committee, in Parliament.

Investigation was triggered by a leak of Facebook user data in the Cambridge Analytica scandal.

"Companies like Facebook should not be allowed to act like 'digital gangsters' in cyberspace, assuming they cannot be touched by law," the report said as quoted by Sky.com.

This investigation found that Facebook not only violated privacy laws and competition, but also did not have the power to stop the dissemination of information and fake news on its platform.

The report also says that Facebook can no longer regulate itself. Even though the company based in Menlo Park, USA must be subject to a code of ethics that overcomes the spread of false news, misuse of user data, and intimidation of small companies.

This investigation report is not only targeting Facebook, but also its founder and CEO, Mark Zuckerberg.

Zuck's claim that his company never sold user data referred to in this report as "not true" Zuck also called showing "insults" to the British parliament after refusing to appear in parliament until three times and answer regulator questions.
