Since Android Pie, Google has spread the beta OS to several non-Pixel devices. The number of devices will increase when Google releases Android Q later. In the last 2018 Google I / O event, Google made an announcement that was quite surprising by presenting Android Pie - when it was named Android P-beta to a number of non-Nexus and Pixel devices.

Thanks to Project Treble, Essential Phone users, Nokia 7 Plus, OnePlus 6, Oppo R15 Pro, Sony Xperia ZX2, Vivo X21, and Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S can taste this OS faster like Nexus and Pixel devices. Project Treble itself is a brand-new framework that makes manufacturers easier, faster and cheaper to make their devices taste the latest Android version.

This framework was first launched in 2017 through Android Oreo, but its development continues on Android Pie, and now Android Q, as quoted from Digital Trends, on Tuesday, March 12th 2019. Iliyan Malchev, Project Treble's boss, said that Android Q beta would involve more cellphones compared to Android Pie beta, which he said in a podcast titled Android Developer Backstage episode 110.

"The amount will be bigger in the next Android release, which makes me very happy. I can't yet reveal the exact number. But the trend is quite positive and strong, and I'm very happy to hear that" Malchev said.
