Indonesian internet speed is one of the slowest among Southeast Asia countries

News24xx.com - Speedtest again exposes the speed of internet connection in countries around the world. Interestingly, the size of smartphone penetration to the Indonesia's market has not been directly proportional to its internet speed. In the Speedtest Global Index report, they separate the internet connection into two parts, first for mobile or cellular services and the second for the broadband.

Speedtest itself regularly exposes the internet connection ranking regularly every month. As quoted on its website, on Monday, March 18th 2019, the average speed of the world mobile internet for downloads reach 25.27 Mbps and uploads almost at 10 Mbps. Whereas for broadband, the average download speed in the world is 55.58 Mbps and for upload is 27.64 Mbps.

For the download in mobile category, Norway is at top of 135 countries with a speed of up to 67.34 Mbps. Meanwhile, Singapore is the fastest when talking about downloading by fixed broadband compared to 176 other countries in the world. When talking about in Southeast Asia, Indonesia's internet connection seems the lowests in matters of cellular download speeds.

According to Speedtest data, Indonesia has even dropped four ranks. Regarding downloads on fixed broadband, Indonesia's ranking also couldn’t be proud of. Indonesia dropped one rank to 110 which is only superior to Cambodia and Timor Leste.
