A day care provider was charged with murder after the baby died in her care

News24xx.com - Stacey Vaillancourt (53) was charged of murder and child cruelty in January due to the death of a 6-month-old baby named Harper Rose.

Vaillancourt, a day care provider, was accused of killing the baby girl by giving her sedatives so she would take a nap. Harper Rose was under the care of Vaillancourt for three days before she died on January 24th.

She was arrested after the medical autopsy revealed that Harper Rose’s body had high concentrations of diphenhydramine, a sedative. The baby died of intoxication.

On the day of her death, Harper Rose was dropped off by her parents at Vaillancourt’s home and she still looked healthy at the time. However, later the police came after a call to 911 and found the baby not breathing. She was brought to hospital but was pronounced death later on.
