According to a researcher from Cambridge University, there is a reason. Based on the studies he did, a person is not 'fully' mature when they have not reached the age of 30 years.

"Our real intention is, to have a definition of when you move from childhood to adulthood looks very absurd (strange). I think systems like education, health and law make it easier for them to determine when someone is entering their adulthood " said Professor Peter Jones in the study, quoted from the BBC.

He pointed out, in England those who are 18 years old can take part in elections, buy alcohol, get mortgage letters and treated as adults if they have problems with the police. "I think this system adapts to what is hiding in front of the eyes, that people don't like (the idea) caterpillars turn into butterflies. Nobody from childhood immediately becomes an adult. They have their own path" concluded Prof. Jones.
