News24xx.com - Jamie Najmi, a natural cheese maker from Yogyakarta revealed a significant difference between cheese made naturally and by the factory. These two types of cheese are differentiated based on their composition and manufacturing techniques. It can be clearly stated if the processed cheese is not real cheese, but artificial cheese which is given a mixture of chemicals.

"Natural cheese is how cheese made since 7,000 years ago. Then in the last few decades people have created another way to make cheese. This cheese is a mixture of natural cheese and chemicals" Jamie explained. The founder of Mazaraat Artisan Cheese explained in more detail about the content of chemicals and other ingredients as the composition of the cheese process.

As an organization that regulates food ingredients, the FDA establishes a composition of cheese processes which is 1: 1 between natural cheese and chemicals. Unfortunately, this rule did not work according to the provisions, because not few producers change the composition.

"The cheese factory processes 1 kilogram of natural cheese, then adds chemicals. There are stabilizers, preservatives and other ingredients so that it reaches a weight of 1 kilogram. Then add 20 percent palm oil. All mixed, then processed cheese was made" Jamie explained.

Jamie also said that various chemicals added to process cheese can make this cheese last longer at room temperature. While natural cheese must always be stored in the temperature of the refrigerator. "That's why a lot of processed cheese is put on the supermarket shelf, and can still safe to consume after long time period. That's because of the use of chemicals" Jamie said.
